History
Floppy Posture formed in the early nineteen-seventies when four teenage boys at Prudhoe High School decided to get together and play music. A Drummer, a singer/guitarist, a lead guitarist and a bass player. They played one ill-fated gig in Hexham and reportedly had to leave pursued by an angry mob.
Years passed, lives were lived. By 2015 three of the original members were again living in the Tyne Valley and decided to “get the band back together”. Sadly, their talented lead guitarist Paul McLean, had passed on. A replacement guitarist was found among their friends and an accordion player was added so they began again.
Mostly they just got together and jammed but eventually they played a few gigs, in Hexham, Newcastle, and Sinderhope; doing a few covers and some of their own material. Covid came along and every booking they got seemed to be cancelled due to another lockdown.
Post-lockdown they have added a trumpet player to their line-up and have continued to make the occasional live appearance which has generally been well-received(No more of being pursued by angry mobs).
They recorded their first album,”Floppy Disc”, in 2023 and it was unleashed upon the online community in December 2024.
